COVID-19 Entry Changes for Patients

Important COVID-19 Entry Changes for Patients

This page was last updated on 21/12/2021
We have changed the way our patients access the doctors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please read these requirements carefully before you come into the practice.
From 21st December 2021:
1. Face Masks must be worn at all times at Suncoast Medical Centre. Please fit your face mask prior to entering the medical centre. Do not enter the medical centre without a face mask. If you cannot abide by this, please phone 5446 5999 for further instructions.
2. You are required to provide proof of vaccination (2 doses) at reception. This can be via the MyGov app, the Check In QLD app, or by a printed certificate from Medicare. If you cannot provide proof, you will be asked to wait outside and then advised over the phone on 5446 5999.

IF YOU ARE FULLY VACCINATED BUT HAVE COLD OR FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS
If you are fully vaccinated, but have respiratory, cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not attend our premises. Please book a telephone consultation with your doctor. If you need to attend in person we require you to first have a COVID-19 test. Once you have received the test results, call us on 5446 5999 and we will instruct you on how to see your doctor.

IF YOU HAVE A CHILD UNDER 12 YEARS OF AGE AND THEY HAVE COLD OR FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS
Children under the age of 12 who have respiratory, cold or flu-like symptoms  must not attend our premises.  Please book a telephone consultation with your doctor. If your child under 12 years of age needs to attend in person we require they first have a COVID-19 test. Once they have received the test results, call us on 5446 5999 and we will instruct you on how to see their doctor.

IF YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED
If you are not fully vaccinated, you will only be able to access your doctor via telephone consultation in the first instance. You will receive the Medicare rebate if you have attended the medical centre in person at least once in the past 12 months. If you have not attended the medical centre in person in the past 12 months, a non-rebatable full consultation fee applies.

Unvaccinated non urgent appointments will require a PCR test with negative result prior to appointment. If you are not fully vaccinated, and you are required to attend a face-to-face appointment as a result of a telephone consultation or you are an unvaccinated parent attending with your child, you will be required to wait outside the practice and phone reception on 5446 5999 for further instructions. If you are presenting with non-infective symptoms, you will be required to have a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), pre-purchased for $40, approximately 30 minutes prior to your appointment time. Unfortunately, we cannot accept recent self-collected/unsupervised RATs as we cannot verify their accuracy.

If you are not fully vaccinated, and you require more urgent medical attention, we recommend that you please go straight to Hospital Emergency, or a government funded Respiratory Clinic to avoid any delay in receiving treatment and where staff have access to full Personal Protective Equipment.
You can book an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination by calling us on 5446 5999.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding during this pandemic.
